Senior Linux Systems Architect | Remote Infrastructure & Containerization Expert

A leading global pharmaceutical enterprise is seeking an experienced Senior Linux Systems Architect to design, implement, and optimize cutting-edge infrastructure solutions. In this role, you'll architect sophisticated Linux-based systems, develop containerization strategies, and implement robust security frameworks that support our mission-critical applications in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop scalable architecture solutions based on modern Linux distributions (Ubuntu 22.04+, RHEL 9+, Oracle Linux 9). - Architect, implement, and maintain container orchestration platforms utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies. - Configure and administer high-availability web services using NGINX, Apache, and HAProxy with advanced load balancing techniques. - Establish comprehensive security frameworks including access control models, network security policies, and compliance monitoring. - Implement automation solutions to streamline infrastructure deployment and management. - Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Ansible, Terraform, and other DevOps tools. - Optimize system performance, reliability, and recovery procedures for enterprise-scale applications. - Provide expert consultation to development teams on Linux architecture best practices and containerization strategies. - Design and implement monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack for comprehensive system observability. - Create detailed technical documentation and architectural diagrams for system designs and operational procedures. Required Skills and Experience - 7+ years of professional experience in Linux system administration and architecture. - Extensive knowledge of enterprise Linux distributions including Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, and Oracle Linux. - Advanced expertise in containerization technologies including Docker, Docker Compose, and container orchestration systems. - Strong working knowledge of web server technologies including NGINX, Apache, and reverse proxy configurations. - Proficient in administering core Linux services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, FTP/SFTP) and security configurations. - Experience with network security implementations including firewalld, iptables, and advanced security modules. - Advanced scripting capabilities with Bash and at least one additional scripting language. - Proven experience with VMware vSphere environment administration and virtual infrastructure management. - Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP networking principles and implementation. - Experience with directory services and authentication systems (LDAP, Active Directory, ADFS). - Demonstrated ability to design and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant system architectures. - Experience working in regulated environments with strict compliance requirements. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Kubernetes orchestration in production environments. - Expertise in implementing and managing monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix). - Knowledge of infrastructure automation using Ansible or equivalent technologies. - Experience with message broker systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ). - Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Yandex Cloud services. - Understanding of ELK stack implementation and log management. - Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and container registries (Harbor). - Knowledge of database administration (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MS SQL). - Experience with enterprise backup solutions like Veeam Backup. - Familiarity with identity management systems (Keycloak). - Basic PHP development knowledge. - Experience with bind DNS configuration and management. - Relevant certifications such as RHCE, LFCE, CKA, or equivalent.
