Senior Network & Security Engineer | Cisco & CheckPoint Specialist

Our global automotive tire manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our critical network infrastructure. As a key member of our IT team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our enterprise network systems that support manufacturing operations across multiple locations. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge Cisco technologies, CheckPoint security solutions, and cloud-based security services in a dynamic industrial environment. Key Responsibilities - Monitor, maintain, and optimize LAN, WiFi, and WAN infrastructure using Cisco Catalyst 9000 series switches, Meraki wireless solutions, and SD-WAN technologies to ensure 99.9% uptime across manufacturing facilities. - Configure and maintain CheckPoint R81 firewall environment and Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) proxy solutions to protect corporate assets from emerging cyber threats. - Develop and maintain strategic relationships with telecom service providers to ensure optimal connectivity, negotiate SLAs, and coordinate circuit installations or upgrades. - Process and implement day-to-day configuration requests including network device configurations, firewall rule modifications with proper change management, and security policy implementations adhering to zero-trust networking principles. - Lead troubleshooting efforts during network service disruptions, including participation in on-call rotation for after-hours support to minimize production impact. - Contribute to network architecture planning, design future-state network solutions that align with business growth, and implement SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) framework components. - Follow ITIL practices for incident tracking, root cause analysis, and developing preventive measures to reduce recurring network issues. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent professional experience. - Comprehensive understanding of digital workplace technologies including Microsoft Active Directory, ADFS, Exchange Online, and modern collaboration tools. - 5+ years of hands-on experience configuring and managing CheckPoint security gateways (R80/R81), including policy management, threat prevention, and high availability implementations. - 3+ years of experience administering Zscaler cloud security solutions, including ZIA and ZPA for secure access control. - Extensive knowledge of internet services including DNS, DHCP, FTP, and DMZ architectures within enterprise environments. - Advanced expertise in static and dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and implementation of route redistribution. - 7+ years of experience working with Cisco enterprise networking equipment including Catalyst switches, VLAN design, Wireless LAN Controllers, 802.11ax implementation, SD-WAN solutions, QoS implementation, and MPLS integration. Nice to Have - Experience in manufacturing or industrial network environments. - Familiarity with network automation and infrastructure-as-code principles. - Knowledge of cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments. - Experience with network performance monitoring tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Cisco Prime. - IPv6 implementation experience. - Project management skills for network upgrade initiatives.
