We're seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our dynamic team developing and delivering enterprise-grade cloud database solutions across diverse industries. In this role, you'll leverage your deep PostgreSQL expertise to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of mission-critical database systems exceeding 1TB in size. Key Responsibilities

- Architect and maintain high-availability PostgreSQL database clusters with 99.99% uptime guarantees.

- Develop sophisticated Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure deployment and management.

- Provide expert consultation on database architecture, migration strategies, and disaster recovery plans.

- Implement and fine-tune replication systems, clustering mechanisms, and comprehensive backup solutions.

- Conduct thorough performance analysis to identify bottlenecks and deliver actionable recommendations.

- Design and deploy robust monitoring solutions with proactive alerting capabilities.

- Verify database backup integrity through rigorous testing protocols.

- Manage seamless PostgreSQL version upgrades and security patches with minimal downtime.

- Document database configurations, optimization strategies, and operational procedures.

- Lead client engagements from initial requirements through implementation and maintenance.


Required Skills

- Minimum 5 years hands-on PostgreSQL administration experience with large-scale (1TB+) databases in 24/7 environments.

- Comprehensive knowledge of PostgreSQL 14+ architecture, configuration parameters, and optimization techniques.

- Advanced Linux administration skills (Debian/Ubuntu/RedHat/CentOS) including system tuning and security hardening.

- Demonstrated proficiency creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks for infrastructure automation.

- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and cloud infrastructure principles.

- Expert-level SQL knowledge with proven ability to optimize complex queries and stored procedures.

- Working knowledge of PL/pgSQL for developing efficient database functions.

- Experience configuring and troubleshooting both logical and physical replication setups.

- In-depth understanding of PostgreSQL transaction mechanisms, MVCC, and locking behavior.

- Ability to design and implement effective database backup and recovery strategies.

- Intermediate English proficiency for client communication and documentation.


Nice to Have

- Experience migrating databases from Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server to PostgreSQL.

- Hands-on experience with Patroni for high-availability PostgreSQL clusters.

- Working knowledge of major cloud providers' PostgreSQL offerings (AWS RDS/Aurora, Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database, etc.).

- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).

- Advanced PL/pgSQL programming for complex stored procedures.

- Shell scripting expertise for database administration automation.

- Experience with sophisticated monitoring tools including pgStatStatements and pg_stat_activity.

- Implementation experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring systems.

- Programming skills in Python or Perl for custom administration utilities.

- PostgreSQL or cloud platform certifications.
