Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:

- Engineer and maintain robust backend infrastructure for our suite of digital health companion applications utilizing NodeJS, TypeScript, and modern server-side frameworks.

- Design, develop, and deploy microservices that prioritize scalability, high availability, and reliability while remaining maintainable and extensible.

- Collaborate intimately with mobile engineers to create seamless, intuitive user experiences that address complex healthcare challenges.

- Partner strategically with platform teams to enhance infrastructure components and shared services architecture.

- Craft exceptional, high-performance mobile products using React Native (v0.73+) and contemporary cross-platform development methodologies.

- Deliver outstanding mobile UX/UI that balances aesthetic appeal with clinical functionality and accessibility standards.

- Implement structured, systematic mobile application development practices that significantly reduce future maintenance overhead.

- Establish comprehensive testing frameworks and automation protocols that ensure application reliability and quality.

- Apply sophisticated cross-OS techniques to develop native-like mobile experiences within stringent healthcare parameters.

- Function effectively within agile development environments, collaborating with product managers, designers, and QA specialists.

- Develop solutions with careful consideration of regulatory constraints and compliance requirements specific to medical applications.

Technical Requirements:

- Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in fullstack roles.

- Demonstrated proficiency with React Native (v0.73+), including navigation, state management, and performance optimization.

- Strong command of End2End testing frameworks (Detox, Appium, or similar) and automated testing methodologies.

- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or comparable platforms.

- Advanced knowledge of NodeJS (v20.x+), including event-driven architecture and asynchronous programming patterns.

- Expertise in TypeScript (v5.2+), including type systems, interfaces, and advanced language features.

- Practical experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration for microservices deployment.

- Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and backend service architecture.

- Experience with NoSQL and relational database systems.

- Proficiency in version control workflows, particularly Git-based methodologies.

Nice to Have:

- Previous experience developing applications within regulated healthcare environments.

- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) and medical privacy regulations.

- Experience with cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Knowledge of WebSocket protocols for real-time communication.

- Understanding of GraphQL implementation alongside REST services.

- Experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Context API).

- Background in implementing accessibility standards (WCAG) in mobile applications.
