About the Role
We require an experienced IT Team Lead with demonstrable technical acumen and exceptional leadership capabilities to manage a distributed team of up to 12 technology professionals. You'll oversee the complete product development lifecycle while championing best practices in Agile methodologies. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive leadership for a remote IT team of up to 12 professionals, including recruitment, performance management, and implementing effective motivation strategies.
- Orchestrate the end-to-end development process from requirements gathering through implementation, ensuring quality deliverables align precisely with business objectives.
- Collaborate with VP and product owners to manage and prioritize the team's backlog, including coordination with dependent teams and resolving cross-team dependencies.
- Develop and maintain detailed work plans with accurate time estimations, resource allocation, and delivery timelines for complex technical initiatives.
- Implement and refine Agile methodologies, facilitating daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other essential Agile ceremonies.
- Generate comprehensive progress reports, technical documentation, and executive presentations to communicate project status to various stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team's development practices, tools, and processes.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership position.
- Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions under pressure and take full ownership of outcomes.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and other contemporary project management tools.
- Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to translate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and vice versa.
- Adaptability and resilience when managing evolving requirements in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and developing technical talent effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of remote banking systems, financial products, and banking processes.
- Experience with modern web technologies, particularly RBS (Remote Banking Systems) or internet portals/customer cabinets.
- Background in developing or launching mobile applications for financial services.
- Understanding of contemporary technical architecture including RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, microservices, and integration solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies.
- Certifications in Agile methodologies (Scrum Master, SAFe) or project management (PMP, Prince2).
- Experience working in regulated industries with stringent compliance requirements.
